A singing group for people age 50 and up, in Bathgate. Hour long classes run every week except during school holidays. Singing can be energising, uplifting and great fun. No musical experience is necessary to take part. If you can hum, you can sing! There are opportunities to sing out in the community for those that wish and you will find the group very friendly and welcoming.

Generation Dance Clubs – Bathgate and Livingston

We run two community dance clubs for anyone over 60 years, in Livingston and Bathgate. There’s no need to book, just turn up. Regardless of your mobility, independence and experience, come along, try us out and tell your friends. All classes include seated options for those with walking aids. Throughout the year there will be opportunities to both watch and learn from visiting and local dance tutors, travel through central Scotland to see other elder dance groups, opportunities to perform (not mandatory!) and to take part in other local arts activities. Contact us for more information or pop along to see for yourself.

Generation Dance (Bathgate) This group meets every Friday at 10.30am at St Mary’s Hall, Livery Street, EH48 4HS. Fed up meeting only twice a month, and with long breaks, participants volunteered to make a £3 weekly donation which enables them to meet almost every week of the year. Let’s get dancing!

Generation Dance (Livingston) based at Craigsfarm, Livingston EH54 5BP.  A friendly and fun group for over 60’s on Thursday mornings at 11.30 am. Well established, the group has been running for over 10 years. They have been meeting weekly for almost two years thanks to the £3 weekly donation per participant.

Care Homes and Day Care Settings

Each year we fundraise to deliver arts activity to people in residential, day care and sheltered housing facilities across West Lothian. This is the main stay of our work and something we feel very passionately about. For 2017 we are very pleased to say that we will be working in three care homes for a whole year! This will let us measure the real impacts of dance in care settings and make a tangible difference to the activities viable to people in long term care.  The generous efforts of our committee and community class members contribute significantly to this element of the annual programme, which ensures that older people across West Lothian in care have access to the social, mental and physical benefits that creative activity provides.
Home HeART project is supported by The Robertson Trust, Henry Duncan Awards and West Lothian Council.
